Formal elements of shape, line and colour within the urban landscape.
Looking for unexpected pattern, coherence or shape, and using techniques such as cropping and flattening the depth of field, which invites other possible readings for the undersupplied image information.
Photography’s evidential vulnerability, the moment of recognition as well as perceptual dislocation are all explored in my work via abstraction and ambiguity.
Digital and analogue photography are the core of my practice. My work is informed by surrealism and constructivism, urban photographers of the 1960s and 70s as well contemporary artists.
