Tina La Porta; 26 September 1967 is an American mixed media artist, photographer, painter, sculptor, printmaker, sound designer, and poet who spent most of her adult life in New York City. Regarded as one of the most enlightened artists of contemporary times, she is known for founding the deep psychological insight movement in sculpture, collage, medication art and for the wide variety of styles that she helped develop and explore. Among her most famous works are the Triptych, From the Edge of Darkness (I Lost Myself), Hand to Mouth, All The Pills In My House, Side Effects, Falloff, Medicine Ball, Happy Pills, Relapse, Split, Speaking to a Voice Unknown (a dramatic portrayal of the torment of mental illness.)

Tina demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in her early years, painting and assembling in a naturalistic manner through her childhood and adolescence. During the last decade of the 20th century, her style changed as she perfected different theories, techniques, and ideas. After 9/11, the event motivated La Porta to explore more radical styles, beginning a series of dreamy pieces made with resin coated anti-depressant pills, layering resin, acrylic ink, and spray paint on board.
