"The removal of Finished Billets from the Furnace" is a work that depicts the process of heating large metal cubes, known as billets, before their further processing. The painting shows workers manually loading these heavy billets into the kiln, using a minimal amount of technique. I used my traditional Watercolor and Raw Paper technique to create this work. It was written in 1984. It was interesting for me to convey on canvas the heating process and the work of workers coping with the hard physical work in the kiln. The watercolor on raw paper technique allowed me to transmit the atmosphere and movement in this process. I tried to capture the details and texture of the metal, as well as convey the dynamics and energy of the work. "The removal of Finished Billets from the Furnace" is one of my early works in which I depicted industrial processes. This painting reflects my admiration for the labor and efforts of the workers who create the basis for further processing and use of the metal. Lola Saifi is the founder and director of the Human House Gallery. Our gallery cooperates with many talented artists from all regions of Uzbekistan and with a number of artists from Central Asia. We would like to use your Saatchi platform to help sell paintings by artists with whom we cooperate and who, due to various circumstances, cannot present and send paintings on their own. Unfortunately, the art-market isn’t developed in Uzbekistan, but there are many talented artists who find it difficult to sell their works.
