Gabriella came up with the idea of drawing Barbie before she knew anything about the Barbie movie coming out. She started drawing Barbies but then parked the idea because she wasn't 100% about it. She started working on another series when the Barbie movie press started to come out and just thought 'It's now or never!' Gabriella began frantically collecting Barbies, all her tiny accessories and drawing them. As a child she wasn't allowed to play with Barbies so it's been quite magical being able to play and draw them now - creating her very own Barbie World! Barbie's Donut is one of the most iconic images of 2023! Gabriella launched her Barbie World at the Riverside Studios alongside the London premier of the Barbie movie in July 2023

Gabriella Anouk is a British / Dutch contemporary artist practicing hyperrealism drawing using coloring pencils. She merges several styles including fine art, photorealism, surrealism and pop art. Her work is influenced by shine and sculpture-like objects and distorting them in her own way. Be it through the use of slime or plastic as references, or playing with scale, it is hard to believe her work is a drawing! A big lover of Dalí's absurd and surreal style, Gabriella says, "The juxtaposition of a beautiful, natural piece of fruit against synthetic, almost vulgar, shiny slime is so attractive and interesting to me." Because Gabriella's drawings are created with so much control and are practicing the genre of hyperrealism she says, "it’s important to me that the actual subject I’m drawing isn’t controlled and has an element of disruption and chaos." Gabriella has developed her creativity across social media platforms and is influential and inspirational introducing many of her 500k followers to art for the first time, whilst sharing the development of her practice. She has an international profile with collectors in New York, Florida, Dallas, Hong Kong, Paris, London and Dubai.
