About The Artwork

This small plant grows out of the cracks in the chalk cliffs of Møn. It defies storm and rain, sun and drought, snow and ice. So defenceless, it feeds on what the wind and rain carry into the crevice. On the elegant, noble chalk it surprises with its grace and resilience. Rock plants are a composition of transferred photographic images on plaster. The rudimentary transfer is accomplished with pastel and graphite. A modest patina by wiped pigments is fixed with mineral binder. Cracks, patina and a matt surface is giving the painting a dignified and noble appearance.
