Julia Shanaytsa approaches her paintings with intuition and emotion at the forefront. She believes that women often rely on their gut feelings rather than logic, and this is reflected in the choices she makes in terms of color and brushstrokes in her work. Intuition is closely tied to sensory memory and helps us draw on relevant experiences from the past in the present moment. In her series "Yellow Mood," Julia depicts women in their environments while also introducing elements of fantasy and playfulness through her use of form and color. This series is inspired by classical works such as Rembrandt's "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp," reimagining these scenes in a modern context. The paintings in this series are characterized by their theatricality, sense of play, and the way they capture the spirit of the times.

In today's reality, where attention is scattered and man defines himself through objects, the artist Julia Shanaytsa finds in this fragmentation and change a source of inspiration. The human desire to describe oneself through objects, these tiny particles of consumer society, becomes a key point in her art. In her work, the artist explores attributions and objects as symbols of contemporary existence. In analogy to Renaissance portraits, where each object has its own meaning, today's objects become attributes that characterise us in this ever-changing reality. The complexity of the contemporary system, where objects are impermanent and subject to obsolescence, creates a sense of confusion in the individual. However, it is in this shift and change that the artist finds beauty. The ability to capture moments in this fluid flow becomes the source of its creativity. Her works do not strive for totality, but rather capture the flashes, the vibrations of this total shuddering of being. She immerses herself in the momentary, in objects that will soon change their position in reality. Through her gaze through the lens on the objects and the impact of the Other, she then creates works on canvas that invite pause, to ponder this complex network of mutual gazes, offering the viewer a space for reflection outside the hustle and bustle and flow of life. Julia Shanaytsa's art is an attempt to capture these moments and convey a sense of fragmentation, yet discover something unique and tantalising in this chaos.
