Within the series of works about summer, this is perhaps the one that brings me closest to the end of the day, and to the end of summer itself. I wanted to qualify the retro-present atmosphere with the inclusion this time of two vehicles, although they are in the background, and the presence of mobile phones. This work emerged from some live sketches, which were modified until the final result was achieved. On a personal note, I would like to point out that although the day is ending, none of the characters in the illustration have any intention of leaving. Those last hours of the day should never end. The cars in the background are a mid-1980s Alfa Romeo GTV 6 and a legendary Vixen 21 motorhome, which was powered by a BMW engine. This digital illustration has been made with custom brushes that allow me to soften the digital-analogue transition. The setup includes self-imposed limits, both in terms of resolution and number of layers; a series of strategies to preserve my analogue technique, without losing the openness of digital possibilities. The chosen colour palette is an extension of my ink palette for traditional small format works. This digital illustration was created as part of a limited series of five copies. The artwork is presented numbered and with a certificate of authenticity.
