About The Artwork

Burano This artwork is part of my "Color Series." The paintings, objects, and sculptures created are exclusively made with the marvelous colors of Murano glass. I was inspired by the beautiful Island of Burano in the Venice lagoon. An island famous for its lace, but above all for the vibrant colors of its houses reflected in the calm waters of its canals. A grand impressionist painting outdoors. Materials Murano Glass. Technique I created the painting on a crystal base that I covered with colored powders of transparent and pastel glass. Subsequently, I worked with a spatula as if it were an oil painting to give an effect of light waves of the sea. Positioned in the oven for a day to obtain a material fusion of the glass. I found a frame with a light blue tint that fits very well with the colors of the painting. On the front, my engraved signature.

I was born in the beautiful city of Venice and from a young age, I followed my father's great passion for Murano glass, falling in love with this precious material linked to the traditions of my land. After my studies, I began collaborating with some of the most representative glass design companies in Murano, historic brands such as VeArt and Vistosi. My interest turned to the technical aspects of glass processing and decoration, research, design, and the study of this material, starting to design and create furnishing and lighting objects for national and international companies. In 2002, I received the prestigious task from the European Community and the Ministry of Equal Opportunities to coordinate courses in Venice aimed at promoting female employment and the development of glass craftsmanship workshops for this purpose. In 2003, I finally started my artistic glass fusion and lampworking laboratory, developing various techniques related to their processing. I have always loved glass for its brilliance, for the beauty of its endless colors and reflections, and I wanted to combine my knowledge of glass techniques with another passion of mine, painting. The precious silver leaf coupled with the glass sheet becomes my canvas to draw and paint on. Graffito, an ancient technique that I revisited in a modern key, combined with other artistic glass processing techniques, allows me to leave free space for my inspiration and creativity for the paintings, objects, and sculptures that represent my collections. Research involves and excites me, stimulating me to find new forms of artistic expression in original and unique works. I am one of the founding members of AMA - Association of Master Artisans of Glass, a brand for the safeguarding of the artistic and cultural heritage of Venetian glass and Made in Italy. My works have participated in various international events and exhibitions and are present in showrooms in many Italian and foreign cities.
