About The Artwork
As artists, we all search out avenues for inspiration. Walking the Dutch streets in Amsterdam, Utrecht, or Maastricht, and looking up at the magnificent architecture, the skies and their cloud formations always caught my eyes, and I fell in love with the their seasonal clouds. Their tight knit or loose structures, shapes, designs, and projected human, animal forms that I could envision, that fleeted by as their mysterious visibility and sharpness, slowly drifted away into amorphous, ambiguous impressions. In this painting, I capture one of these moments of recording their path and movement, their mellifluous textures and dual personality of emitting the light and dark shapes that compose their formation compositions against the momentary singular, miniscule exposure of the blue sky beyond.
