Earth Art Work-Nº 510 on Hahnemühlen-paperstock on canvas on frame ICEFIRE The concept: Iceland is a small island on the thin seam between two huge continents, drifting apart, a land between the old and the new world, under whose ice shield the Fire of the EARTH is glowing. Thousands of years ago, under the influence of violent, all life-destroying eruptions, in Iceland the Edda was written down. An epos about the life of the gods in the Germanic Olymp and an amazingly authentic description of the geological events during that time. Until today the world of the sagas and the life with the fire has shaped the people on this island, the iceland. They have been sensitized to their behaviour towards the EARTH. The border between mythology and reality are blurred. This terragraphy-project describes the old sagas of the island and at the same time the transcendent and lively imagination of the Icelanders today. It shall make visible the immense energy of the EARTH.
