About The Artwork
The Story behind this oil painting is somehow unique. While I was having my practical internal medicine exam, I was talking to the patient I'm having the exam on. Before the exam start we had some time to talk about how her life was going. She was very poor, had six children and her husband was dead. She had to sell flowers in the streets for her living. She told me that there were many days at which they had to split 2 or three onions and a half bottle of orange juice as she had no money to get more. What touched me the most is how she was smiling and seemed to be satisfied with her life, the life that most of us will consider agony if we had to experience it. So, I decided to paint two onions and an empty bottle to honor the brave men and women who struggle through their days in life, and yet kept the smile.

I was born on 17th, August, 1996 in Minuf city, Egypt. I grew up loving art especially drawing and painting since primary school. After I joined the school of medicine and surgery I was confused between pursuing the medical career or the art career, and I always wondered; can I really do both? Right now I'm trying to do so, as I combine two dissimilar professions as an artist and an orthopedic surgeon. This dissimilarity made my passion to art grow bigger and bigger in a way that made me always wanting to prove that I can be a successful doctor and a successful painter in the same time.
