About Tadeusz Deregowski
I work in oils on a small scale. I work directly from my subjects, painting plein air, usually landscapes or architecture, but sometimes also still lives or portraits. I love to make painting journeys, and have spent long periods in the last few years months traveling in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and the UK. I carry the wet paintings in cardboard carriers: many people like to use to display the paintings. Some of these carriers can be seen in the portfolio. I studied at Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art. I grew up in Scotland but now live in Florianopolis, in Southern Brazil. I am represented by Rose Issa in London, and by the Union Gallery in Edinburgh, both of whom hold paintings, and will happily assist you. I have shown work in the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy, London, recently.
I studied at Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art between 1986 and 1991. I have had illustration work published in The Daily Telegraph, The Times Educational Supplement, The Guardian, The Spectator and Carlos Magazine. In 2002 I won the Dedalo Art prize.
I have shown extensively in Florianopolis, and in London. Last year my work was on display at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London, and it will be shown there again this year (2014).
