Cabrera’s training as an fine artist,designer, film maker, and subsequent time spent studying in Italy, has given him keen awareness of the poetics of production and principals of design. Playing with these poetic and design interests, Cabrera has assembled site specific instillations, formed temporary microcosm of relations, and used systems of process and production as a way of underscoring the need for the comprehension of history to serve as a launch pad for the future.
When Cabrera is not making art for galleries,museums and collectors, he is committed to Introducing museum quality works in schools,poor neighborhoods, public places. Making museum quality art available outside the institutions, noting that beautiful moments can happen in unexpected places.
