Fanny Magnets, 2012-2013

'Fanny Magnets', were made as a symbol for empowerment for those women suffering as a consequence of male orientated societies. Particularly females in oppressed societies that are being abused due to lack of education & fear! Inspired by a play on words 'Fanny Magnet' used in Western societies, a phrase used particularly by males, example 'he is / I am a fanny magnet' when they are gloating about their ability to attract women. These small sculptures of vagina's, are made to look like flowers, as a symbol of fertility, beauty & growth. They are designed to be placed on fridges/ magnetic surfaces on show to the world, proud to be female, stand up for equal rights.
