Fanny Magnets 2012-2013

Fanny Magnets are a symbol of empowerment, in support of those females abused in societies ruled by religion, culture or fear. They are designed to stick to a magnetic surface (magnets on the back) eg a fridge or metal panel, plain as day, to help raise awareness of the female oppressed societies & cultures. Inscribed on the back of each one is ‘Proud to be Female’, ‘Stand up for equal rights’, also signed & numbered by myself. Fanny Magnets were inspired by a play on words/ phrase used in Western Culture, by males who boast about being able to attract lots of women easily. For example ‘He is/ I am a Fanny Magnet’ note: Currently there are approximately 500 cases a year in the UK only, of an illegal practice known
