Looking Thru My Kaleidoscope - Eternal Return The word "kaleidoscope" is derived from the Ancient Greek, καλ(ός) (beauty, beautiful), είδο(ς) (form, shape) and σκόπιο (tool for examination)—hence "observer of beautiful forms. This series of painted illusions is flirting with Op Art and Faux Painting, and at the same time attempting to raise questions about the viewer’s relationship to the visual art work and its point of perception and limitations in a fragmented reality.
