About stu lee
A self-taught British painter, Stu Lee draws from his personal experience and direct environment to give expression to the emerging strength, novelty and vision inherent to each image. Living and working between London and Paris, he has not stopped, since two years, endeavoring to develop and make the best of his urgent desire to create pieces. While Stu Lee did not choose to follow any formal training within the fields of the arts, his work constantly leads him to an exploration of new techniques and artistic ideas - with the ultimate aim of genuinely interpreting beauty as he sees it within each painting. Using oils as a core medium and painting mainly figurative subjects, Stu Lee's self-given task and challenge every time he begins to work on a new canvas, is to connect in some still unseen way both the essence lying deep in the image and the quest for what the work is trying to say or not say. But sometimes the works speak for themselves. Stu Lee's commitment and responsibility when painting each and every one of his pieces, is to pursue and represent the exact truth as he sees it.
