Iris Kiewiet The visual language in both my paintings and illustrations is consistent in the sense of creating an introspective and narrative image. In all the works, myth is connected to humanity. The starting point is the self, the archetypal, spiritual self.The environment is just as important. The Canadian landscape is expanding my canvasses literally as well as energetically. In this environment, I can access my potential fully by purely being in nature. Reflecting life in the world, in community and within, is to me the essence of creation. I also believe that within this realm, information can be found and passed on to next generations. I am curious of the visual of our world just before form is manifest.
