A Memory from Six Years Ago: Even though a lot of time has passed, I still remember the feelings that arose during the creation of this drawing. “Behind the Gate” is more than just an artwork. It is a story of loss, hope, beginnings, and the deep bonds between families. When I was 33 years old, so confused that I couldn't move forward, a childhood memory popped up in my mind, reminding me: "You can draw." This became a major turning point in my life. Starting from Scratch: From childhood to adulthood The ability to draw has not been developed in any way, so I embarked on a journey of artistic exploration. From basic drawing principles to light and shadow, I learned and practiced diligently. Including training in using a fountain pen. Challenges and Perseverance: The journey was not smooth. As I thought Mistakes are inevitable. Many times mistakes are made and sometimes the damage is so severe that it is almost irreversible. But I persevere and encourage myself. and overcome those obstacles Beyond the Paper: A Family's Love: The story I mentioned initially is just one part of a bigger story. The story of the bond between a family: My grandmother is bedridden, and I left my job to care for her. While I create this work of art," I'm always beside her when she is sleeping and awake. Taking care of her every need to make sure she doesn't feel alone. But it's not just me. Everyone in the family shares this connection, and we love her in return for all she has always done for us. The Drawing's Soul: "Behind the Gate" embodies all these experiences: hopes, mistakes, sorrows, joys, and the unwavering love that binds us together. Though more than 6 years have passed, and my grandmother is no longer with me, the drawing remains a testament to our connection. A New Chapter: A little girl, holding a lantern, stands before a large door. Beyond it lies brightness and endless possibilities. Ready to begin her journey, she will create her own story.
