This drawing, a riff on two pages from an open copy of David Foster Wallace's novel Infinite Jest, notes the swelling and shrinking of the world of the novel, its unstable narrative (and characters) and drifting plot. It is one of a large series of drawing/paintings and mixed media collages (2016-present) inspired by specific books: Moby Dick by Melville, Mason&Dixon by Pynchon, Infinite Jest by Wallace, Tristram Shandy by Sterne, White Guard by Bulgakov, Mrs. Dalloway by Woolf, and other texts that are not books, including product packages and advertising. I enjoy making these and would be delighted to take commissions for a drawing or collage of any size inspired by a particular book, specific page of a book, or any other text (signs, advertisements, Wikipedia pages, etc.) of your choice. I'd love to collaborate on this.
