Daniel Rutherford

Daniel Rutherford here, for the last 24 years I've hidden my work. I've decided not to hide it from the world, and to finally show others. I've built my portfolio with the fundamentals of light, zones, shutters and f-stops. Most of my images were b/w film stock. I have now moved to digital medium.

I get my inspiration from various things. A sensation hits me and I get very excited. My brain clicks, my eyes widen, and at that moment I know I just may have something I will like. The moments I capture have a place in my heart, from scenic landscapes, people, structures, objects, etc., whether focused on photo realism, documentary, modernism, minimalism, impressionism, or conceptual photography.

The art of images always fill my soul. I suppose that art is in my blood, as it is for most artists. It's like breathing. When you stop you die.
