Gilda Murgia

I was born on a windy day in a town in Sardinia: Perdasdefogu, a town now known in the news for its centenarians. Of my land I retain two gifts: the Light and the Colors. Thus they come to me as I reproduce them in my works.
My Soul accepted an invitation to which I could not but respond: it led me like a wave of indescribable beauty that urgently asked me to have eyes to see, ears to hear, a new heart to LOVE and represent on canvas my inner world.
I find in Art the answer to this need: a message that has been lingering for so long but destined for me, which I have gone to embrace and step by step grows during my human journey. Thus was born the collection of works entitled "GODDESSES AND DOLLS."
Through painting I like to imagine and wish for the sisterhood of the feminine.
My seemingly inanimate Goddesses like Dolls ... are alive with their curious eyes wide open to the world, their bright and bright colors bring joy and cheerfulness, sustaining and cheering up the world of those who possess them.
