Margaret Heath

I am an English marine painter whose work falls into two main categories - seaside and coast.
SEASIDE
Bright, cheerful images that bring back memories of childhood holidays, day trips and all the fun of being beside the sea.
COAST
Atmospheric images of the coast's natural beauty, boats and reflections, all enhanced by the effects of weather and light.

I am an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and exhibit with them annually at the Mall Galleries in London. I also regularly exhibit there with the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, where I won the Rowland Hilder Award in 1998. My work also sells at many galleries in London and across the south of England.
I studied at Wimbledon Art School for four years and was an illustrator for many years before becoming a full-time painter.
I have done painting demonstration features for Artists & Illustrators magazine and for 'Painting Light and Shade', a book published by Quarto. My paintings have appeared on greeting cards for the Paper House Group and Otter House Ltd and in the Laing calendar. My work has been published by the Art Group as art cards for Ikea and as posters and canvas prints for sale worldwide.
