I am Anugrah Mishra, a London-based contemporary painter and public artist from India. My practice explores migration, displacement and the psychological realities of people affected by conflict, exile and forced movement. I create symbolic paintings that reveal inner worlds through atmosphere, silence, domestic objects, traces of the body and archetypal references from psychoanalysis, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) Fine Art from Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, and won the Freelands Painting Prize 2024. My work has been exhibited in London and Cambridge, including at Freelands Foundation, Mall Galleries, Ruskin Gallery and the Museum of Technology. I am also an AA2A Artist in Residence at Cambridge School of Art.
Alongside my studio practice, I completed The Human Current, a large-scale public mural at Jesus Green Lido, Cambridge, supported by Cambridge City Council and GLL.
