Woven Paintings

This collection of artwork begins with two pieces of industrial grade vinyl that have been screen printed and painted on the reverse side. Each piece is cut and weaved then stretched and painted with several coats of water based paints. The last process involves sanding through those layers of paint back to the vinyl, revealing patterns and images on the reverse side of the vinyl. The front and sides are then sealed with a water based poly, leaving the art to function without a frame.
