Bright Series on canvas

This series, begun in 2007, could be described as "color field painting", but in a European version. Indeed, the compositions are built around colored planes that more or less evoke the idea of a landscape or a particular emotion. An unreal, imaginary or unconscious space, reduced to a sum of horizontal planes where figurative elements are generally absent. Beneath the apparent minimalism of these creations lies a genuine quest for color. Expressiveness is served here by a technical mastery of paint and highly personal harmonies. Superimposed layers (successive glazes) produce deep, luminous hues. These compositions, dominated by reds and oranges, seem to stand the test of time.
