About The Artwork

"This work is the result of my exploration of seemingly trivial things with different meanings. Domino cards were my choice for this work. By utilizing a domino card that I photographed and then cropped, I intended to create a single motif from the pattern on the back of the domino card as my reference because the pattern is repetitive. Instead of directly depicting the game of dominoes, I preferred focusing on the back of the card, finding it intriguing and wanting to showcase its unexpected beauty. The reason I used domino cards as my exploration object is related to the game of dominoes when viewed from a life perspective. When playing dominoes, we have to think about which card to play first and count the cards in play, which reminds us of the complexity of life and decision-making. The domino card is used as a metaphor for luck, fate, and opportunity. It symbolizes that life itself is an unpredictable game, where every decision we make can influence our journey. Through this work, I invite art enthusiasts to contemplate the meaning of life, the connection between choices and fate, and the importance of living consciously. The use of contrasting primary to tertiary color combinations and its representational visuals stimulate imagination and reflection for those who view it."
