About The Artwork
The work originates from the concept of automatic drawing, where the marks are spontaneously made in an effort to "draw out" the subconscious mind. Inspiration is also derived from the drawings of Van Gogh and Frank Stella's black paintings. I prefer the basic and simple pen and ink drawing method on a specially prepared fabric. The alternating hatch drawing technique is also the architectural symbol for earth. The work ships with a black metal contemporary frame and wire hanger. .
