In Nordic mythology, Saga is the goddess of memory, story and poetry. Daily Saga receives Odin in her palace Sokvabek where, seated near the source of the History without it being able to dry up or its flow to discontinue, Saga narrates, Odin listens, drinking of this mead. Odin is a traveler and needs to know what's happening to the worlds. For if he experiments, if he incarnates wisdom, his decisions are not made without knowledge. Saga tells the facts, Odin gives them meaning, the past, the present and the future being closely linked. Odin and Saga know that the past explains the present and announces the future. Decision and action require wisdom, wisdom is nothing without memory, memory requires knowledge of actions. This is a circle and so is the course of History. Saga was the goddess of history, transcribing and scrupulously recording everything that happened. The name Saga derives from the verb "segja" meaning "to say".
