Struggle Drawing

This artwork which in itself was a great challenge, took me 300+ hours to complete in a period of four months. It is a super realistic artwork I did illustrating the struggles every human faces on all areas of the planet, most especially in Africa with reference to hardship and expectations of the family, community as well as oneself. The muse here is mike Tyson and its a reassurance for anyone struggling that they're going to make it at some point if they give life their all and be consistent at what they do till the point that the world can't simply ignore. The inspiration for this piece came from my reflection on Tyson's life and how he when all odds were against him triumphed and rose from the ashes of been a nobody. I chose the medium of graphite and charcoal and perfectly mixed every ounce of it up in the drawing so to challenge myself till I quit or triumph, which I did the later. I hope this work is perceived with inspiration when any hustler in any part of the world is lifting a tool even when he's devoid of every iota of strength; physically or mentally.
