Rotary phones are a thing of the past. Today's generation does not recognize them, never used them. The work has hidden personal and relevant references such as the phone number from I Love Lucy, that used an Exchange Name MH (Murray Hill, NYC neighborhood), where I created this work. The background is a floral print on canvas depicting old fashioned painted flowers. It is collaged with the telephone image and dripped with paint, then completed with numbers and words. From the ongoing series "Objects Quotidiennes" of everyday objects in an effort to catalog the past and awaken nostalgic memories or evoke curiosity. Similar to other projects this body of work explores recurring layers of memory and reflections on time while engaging the viewer with texture and shape, allowing for their own particular associations to come through. Done in street art fashion using layered images, ripped and/ or wrinkled. Signed. Framed and ready to hang as is with D rings and hanging wire included.

“Now that’s what I call art!” — Master Photographer Roy DeCarava, National Medal of Arts 2006, describing Tina Psoinos’s work. Multidisciplinary Artist and Fine Art Photographer Tina Psoinos’s extensive body of work showcases an alternative view of the world she sees, one that blurs the borders of reality and imagination. Intrigued by the ephemeral, ever-changing nature of the street art scene, Psoinos creates urban inspired art using mixed traditional and street art techniques with street art aesthetics while sneaking in personal references. Her portfolio includes a number of ongoing series that range from minimal to very complex imagery. Works explore female rights, empowerment and equality through pop culture, as well as love through social media. Drawing on powerful imagery, she uses these concepts to also create and develop inspired site-specific installations. Based in NYC, Psoinos has won numerous awards for her artistry and is currently shortlisted at EMST The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens Greece for her Empty Pro(e)mises proposal. Her work is in private and public collections around the world.
