ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This acrylic painting on a canvas support is another of my Covid 19 series. In this piece, I painted a number of figures moving away from one another, showing them isolated and alone. Are they feeling angry? Sad ? It is difficult to say but for me, the figures represent the many people who have been forced to isolate from others during this world wide pandemic. The colorful palette is in contrast to the theme of loneliness. The figures have lost companionship, with one isolated figure holding a mask to her face to protect herself even more. .The style is expressive with semi abstracted figurative shapes

After retiring from a long, rewarding career as a high school teacher and administrator, Myra discovered the joys of painting, especially using water media.
