Alone With My Thoughts Painting

I'm originally from Michigan. Lived in Florida for a bit, then out west for a bit. I relocated to the mountains ten years ago. These mountains and thier natural beauty are my muse. I spend as much time outdoors as I can, as I find it to be the greatest source of creative inspiration. The ever changing contrast between movement and stillness, luminosity and shadow, has drawn me in. I have always enjoyed painting nature and landscapes, although my early art education was focused on illustration with an emphasis on figurative drawing. My work has evolved over the years co-incidedly, with my ever evolving self. Learning to let go, trust, take chances, get less caught up in detail, .... In these landscapes I have adapted a more fluid, minimalistic and ethereal approach. I have been painting for over twenty five years and have been drawing since early childhood. I work in my home studio, with the company of my dog Buster, and my cat, Simon.
