Arie Onnink was born in 1960 in Barendrecht, the Netherlands, on the outskirts of Rotterdam, the city that shaped him. He attended school and training in Rotterdam, both his training as a teacher and in visual arts. Although primary trained as a teacher, he soon chose the world of art and advertising/graphic design. From his current home in Hoeven in Brabant, he has passionately embraced painting since 2013. A painter in development, looking for the narrative path in his expressions, often in a realistic setting and representation. Some form of melancholy and irony are underlying emotions in the works.
