A while back on my first visit to Yellowstone National Park we were driving through a section that had been badly burnt by forest fires a few years before. I made the driver stop the car and my wife and friends wait for me while I went off and photographed this amazing cycle of nature displayed plainly before us. It gives me hope that whether Humans continue to destroy and exploit nature or maybe we start to nurture and take care of it, no matter what, nature will win and renew and be beautiful again.

I painted this painting from those photographs I made that day. I also just think it's an unusual landscape not often seen in paintings. The complexity looking through the hundreds of yards of tree trunks and branches for me is just one of those things that tickles my brain...it's amazingly complex but yet utterly simple and in turn beautiful.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to answer them.

Artist Bio – Tim McGuire I am a photographer, painter, and occasional filmmaker, deeply rooted in the landscapes that shaped me. Raised amid the striking beauty of Southwest Colorado, I first connected with the visual world through the vastness of high desert plateaus and the quiet grandeur of the Four Corners region. That early awe never left me—it simply evolved. My formal education in photography and graphic arts began in Flagstaff, Arizona, and continued through decades of hands-on experience in Seattle, where I lived for over 30 years. There, while working in commercial and editorial photography, I quietly nurtured a more personal, meditative body of work—landscapes, textures, and natural forms that spoke to something deeper. That work, once private, now stands at the center of my practice. Over the years, my creative path has broadened to include painting and filmmaking. My approach is intuitive but rooted in discipline—shaped by classical influences like Ansel Adams, Georgia O’Keeffe, Andrew Wyeth, and the painters in my own family, whose legacy runs through my hands. While much of my training in painting is self-directed, my photographic eye has been sharpened by years of education, assisting over 100 professional photographers, and more than three decades of immersive practice. I create to learn, to listen, and to connect. My work is a search—for clarity, presence, and the quiet truths the natural world offers us. Whether through the lens or the brush, I seek to capture the magic that’s always there for those willing to pause and see. Art, for me, is not a product—it is an offering. Each piece is a reflection of reverence for the land, a meditation on light and form, and an invitation to the viewer to experience the wonder I’ve witnessed firsthand. **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** My limited edition photographic works are always available to be printed to your specs and / or matted and framed ready to hang.
