I am dedicating this series to those who search for the truth in between the half-truths of history. Jalen Law is a Buffalo-based artist, art educator, and entrepreneur dedicated to supporting emerging artists and youth in the regional arts communities. With a passion for art since the age of four, Law primarily works in drawing and painting, integrating technology and digital arts into his pieces, creating powerful images that address uncomfortable issues. In his artist statement, he emphasizes drawing viewers in, encouraging thought without allowing discomfort to deflect or turn away. Through The Jalen Law Collection, he offers custom, commissioned artwork, serves as a live painter for corporate events and festivals, curates art exhibitions locally and nationally, and presents workshops and lectures. Law aims to use art as a tool for personal development and to create opportunities for emerging artists. His mural painting practice has expanded, starting with a project honoring essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and leading to notable pieces like the Calvin "Pop" Porter mural at the Niagara Falls Heritage Center. Since 2014, Law has been teaching art to people of all ages, conducting workshops at summer camps, the University at Buffalo Anderson Gallery, and delivering sessions on emotional intelligence to at-risk youth in Erie County through various organizations. Currently, he is implementing the Emotional Intelligence Program, a research-based art initiative inspired by Yale University President Dr. Peter Salovey's work on emotional intelligence, in schools and corporate organizations. Law is presently exhibiting his second solo exhibition, "Unveiled Echoes," at the University of Syracuse. T
