About The Artwork

Since a very young age I remember my self drawing on any material available but mostly on the order pads from the restaurant my family owned. Through the years I have managed to complete those scribbles into paintings using three steps. First step the drawing itself, most of my drawings have a strong political and social meaning that caught my attention at that certain moment, secondly the creation of a high quality digital image of it and choosing the colour range that will finalise the third step that is finishing it on canvas with acrylic paint. Art runs in my family, my father was a very respected sculptor that past away in a young age. After his death his art was brought into the house from his studio and took over all the walls and empty space available. Up until today, thirty years later, the family house is still decorated with his work. A great privilege of daily inspiration. I have accomplished my independent style that has its own rythim and simplicity that focuses on something new. Its acceptance from friends, collectors and institutes has been generous through my local career. What you see in this painting are five humble heads balanced on one body that resembles some of our daily roles we need to activate through the day. As a parent, a son or sister, a friend a colleague, a leader and so on, we balance our feelings all day long. Why humble? Because humbleness is the healthiest way of facing all those emotions and keeps them in a stage were they don't turn into demons.

Welcome, I have been experimenting lately with an old Glass Negative Plate Archive that I have inherited. The archive was discovered in a basement that happened to connect to a water canal. The Plates were stored there for over 30 years and as you understand they were damaged to an extent not restorable anymore. The images extracted, prove to contain balanced compositions of various depicted characters blended with each other and mixed beautifully with deteriorated humid motifs. An absolute odyssey of self-generated images. When I interact with them, digitally, I focus on the compositional artistic result of each independent piece, to provide them with the best transformational elements for them to exist in a digital future. In 2018, I was awarded the prize of Excellence at the Larnaca Biennale providing three pictures taken from the archive, and in 2019 I held an exhibition that contain 40 artworks generated again from the archive. In 2022, I took one step further and exhibited my latest work, which was mentored by Artist and Professor Maurice Kahn, in Athens which also provided two NFT Collections. The journey has just begun. Welcome aboard.
