I often paint in allegories, wishing to impart a gentle, wholesome atmosphere of the rural life and the shepherd and his flock. In combination with rural roads and agriculture, to me it is a song of the simpler life. I love the work of Maxfield Parrish and Claude Monet and use their working methods as a departure point for my work. I always try to paint on fine weave linen using glazes for depth and richness, and I follow the time tested principles of painting using archival materials on stabilized linen to create a painting that will last centuries
