This one one-of-a-kind piece was painted in a batik technique using cold wax resist, water-based pigments applied to 12mm Habotai silk. When framed behind glass the painting looks vibrant and rich.

With eruptive vibrant colors, artist Daniel Jean-Baptiste uses silk as his canvas and nature as his inspiration. His painting style is known as “The shimmering light water technique” is very distinct with the use of wet on wet brushstrokes resulting in a textured light effect of the natural white silk showing as highlights in his compositions.
