Born in 1952 in Paris, Alain Crocq be raised by his mother after his parents separated. He lived some time in Normandy before moving to Marseille in the sixties. From fifteen he feels the need to paint, but his modest forces him to focus his studies in the first place. He settled physician, married, started a family and will return to painting that eighteen years later. These years will not, however, lost his art as it is in practice the human dimension of his job he finds most of the springs of his painting. Alain Crocq paints mostly in acrylic on canvas. The first approach is to blacken his support for a multitude of tasks. It prints and a latent image that will try to prove later. However, this is not an approach similar to automatic writing of the surrealists, as Alain Crocq "directs" his unconscious. It's usually after an emotional shock caused by a news, a television, a commemoration or his medical practice that is revealed to him an image on the support he had previously prepared. It only remains to show that image, to highlight certain contours, set up the signs that specify, build context. The observer can then see that this picture existed well in full force, even its violence and the fact that the artist has revealed. First dream, populated by musicians, acrobats, horses and riders, of Don Quixote, his painting has gradually away from the world of childhood, of his imagination and recklessness to incorporate the more concrete and brutal adults. Doctor clinic in a port area Crocq Alain knows too well that behind productivity, consumerism, displayed the magnificence of the industrial society is too often deployed as a corollary, suffering, illness, stigma , segregation. His paintings record an inventory of our lifestyles and explores the dark side. The clinician finds it but does not anathema. It is on the side of poor and excluded and lends his art to express themselves. Gnaegy Yves (Gallery Anna-Tschop
