Lines of Stars Painting

A painting that was long awaiting its final touch. Its turquoise composition, free in its approach, was at a point that I dared not touch it anymore, afraid to go too far on it. I created this white sewn in constellation that offered straight lines within the organic background. It felt like it was still missing something. A year later, just experimenting, I added a pink,light pink, red spotted thread onto of the work. Surprisingly, especially because of its colour it looked good and finally I stuck and threaded it into the turquoise bright work. It is the first time that I stick the yarn on the canvas instead of only threading. Doing so I had more freedom of direction and curves in the work. It is stuck with and as a whole treated with plextol which is a acid free acrylic resin that also varnished the rest of the painting. So it has a slightly varnished /wet look when you look from a certain side into the light. The subtle and pink details made the difference as it gave the painting its finishing touch. For it was waiting for a subtle touch of a warmer colour without dominating the blue hues. This particular piece is a one in a kind I don t have a Series of this work but maybe it will inspire more in the future.
