About The Artwork
Inspired by the magnificent portals of the palace in Jaipur city of India, its a free hand mini replica of one of the gates in the City Palace and is suggestive of summer season. The lotus motif is everywhere. The sketch for the Lotus Gate took nearly 3 weeks of painstaking work and the painting took me 2 months to complete, a square inch at a time as there was so much detail. This painting has so many miniature paintings incorporated in it. I had to work with a magnifying glass in one hand and the paint brush in the other.
