Pow Wow Hill After Dark was inspired by visits to Po Hill in Amesbury, MA. After dark the homes in the valley below were lit up like tiny stars. Through movement and color the painting suggests a sense of light traveling within a landscape.

An Ocean Between evolved from writing and remembered events. The narrative of this body of work speaks to loss and longing. The individual pieces function as physical remnants and reminders of moments that still haunt. Baker’s paintings evoke passion though color and mark-making. They suggest distance and topographic relationships that speak to both the literal and figurative space between lovers.

This piece has crossbar supports on the back and comes compete with hanging wire attached.

sides and back are sized with PVA.

This painting is signed and dated on the back.
