Mariusz Szmerdt - artist dealing with Japanese painting known as "sumi-e". Member of the International Chinese Calligraphy and Sumi-e Society - ICCPS (Japan). Since 2011, I have participated in over 25 exhibitions in Poland, also abroad: France, China, USA, Japan. He regularly teaches painting at workshops organized, among others, in the world's largest Japanese Martial Arts Center - Dojo Stara Wieś. The quality of his works is evidenced by winning several awards at international ink painting exhibitions in China, the cradle of this style. He is also an illustrator (books and games devoted to martial arts). Privately, he is a husband and father, practicing Kyokushin Karate, traditional archery, and historical reenactment of the early Middle Ages - Slavs and Vikings. Here the second painting theme appears - the mythology and culture of the Slavs and Normans. "Painting is one of my passions, I always try to make the paintings I create full of emotions and energy, telling a story that moves the viewer. I love the atmosphere of feudal Japan, samurai, martial arts. I train karate myself, so I understand and feel what I paint. "
