"She Made The First Move" is acrylic, watercolor and spray paint on wood. It is on a heavy duty professional artist wood panel with 2 1/4" inch sides. The sides of the canvas have been painted charcoal gray. It measures 48" X 48" X 2 1/4". My current abstract work is an inner reflection of my own battle with cancer and the realization that life is just too short. I hope it will be a reminder to not live life on auto pilot...seize the day, have fun and enjoy every moment that we are given.

Wyanne Thompson is a painter whose work reflects both her creativity and her remarkable personal journey. A BFA graduate of Wesleyan College, she has been a full-time artist for over 30 years, creating colorful, bold pieces that inspire and uplift. In late 2013, Wyanne (pronounced Y-Ann) was diagnosed with Stage IV head and neck cancer, undergoing surgery to remove her tongue and numerous lymph nodes. Despite the challenges, she relearned to speak and has been cancer-free for 10 years. Her survival journey transformed her art. Painting became her way of communicating and healing, capturing magic through color and energy.
