About The Artwork
A painting from Swan Lake, white on black canvas board. The ballerina is in silhouette but rather than black on white I thought it would look good white on black. There is a light spattering of paint to give the painting more atmosphere. The artwork would ideally be framed as this will help keep the board flat. I am inspired by ballet and have been since I was a child attending ballet classes. It's a very aesthetic art form and I try to capture that in 2-dimensional form on a painting. I have seen Swan Lake a few times and it is just magical!

I was born in Bristol in the UK and now live in Sussex. I have been drawing ballet dancers since I was a child. I took ballet classes as a child and developed a love of the dance form. From this experience, I am familiar with the movement and poses and try to get this across in my drawings and paintings. The subject matter is mainly ballet as I find this inspiring, but I also paint scenic views and love a beautiful sunset!
