The Limit's Edge Painting

"The Limit's Edge" was created on the Full Moon of January 1st, 2018. As you can see the full moon is present in this painting. We had a super moon that day in the sign of Cancer (Cancer is ruled by the Moon). The full moon is all about letting go, releasing what no longer serves you. That particular full moon was all about releasing limiting beliefs. These are the kind of beliefs that hold you back from growing any further or experiencing more in your life. If you can release the belief, you release the limit and break the glass ceiling, so to speak. This piece depicts all the edges of limit: the water's edge; the foothill's edge; the mountain's edge; to the moon: and beyond. No matter how far you think you've expanded, is it possible to expand further? What do you have to release to expand? This piece inspires the viewer to meditate on these ideas. "The Limit's Edge" was creating by starting with a fluid painting technique. Mindfully layered matte black acrylic was applied and distressed using a gem water blend charged by moonlight. The sky was created using a textured metallic paint infused with mica crystals. The moon and sea are coated in a natural beeswax encaustic coating. A simple gold thread runs across the water's edge. Channeling the work (connecting to Source energy and allowing it to move through me) is by far my favorite and the most satisfying way to create art.
