Trees Painting

Matte spray-varnish protective coating, signed, titled, and dated on the back, small 1 3/4" sawtooth hanger nailed in the middle of the top back edge of the frame for hanging. I was born in Peshawar, Pakistan, and grew up in the United States. Despite loving Art, I didn't pursue it as it was considered a hobby of the rich and somewhat extravagant to spend my time and resources on. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and started off with watercolors. I remember as a kid I used to love to make paintings of the planets, which my kind teachers would display in the classroom. As I grew older and moved back to Pakistan in my teens, I was expected to complete my education and earn my master's degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Peshawar. The idea of becoming an artist was hence then placed in my keepsakes box. It was not until recent years when I started to paint with my young son. Mostly to form the love of Art in him. Watching him creatively paint some great abstract paintings was no doubt rewarding but also required a lot of motivation and patience. After a while, he needed a break from painting and that's when the artist in me surfaced. I picked up the brush that he left and since then have not been able to put it down. Some days I can paint from morning to night and yet feel like I don't get enough time to paint. Art is a form of creation, I find it very therapeutic, and most importantly it is beautiful. I have an encouraging husband and family and close friends who have applauded most of what I so far have painted. I also have a brilliant and professional artist for a friend whose tips and comments have greatly helped my Art. Even though I have had no formal art education, not even a single lesson I know with my love for Art, colors, and creativity I will be painting for many years. I wish to learn more about art and become a better artist if time avails. So far, my paintings are based mainly on my imagination. I greatly admire the works of Van Gogh and Monet and consider myself an outsider artist.
