Born in Hong Kong, awarded Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, majoring in painting. YU's paintings are influenced by her own experience in daily life; she has travelled to the UK during her study to observe and gain new life experience while further exploring the habit of humanity through art practice from different perspectives. She often uses symbolic imagery rather than direct representation in her paintings. . YU is now working as an independent artist in Hong Kong. In 2013, she published her first art book and had her first Solo exhibition in Hong Kong, part of her works have been collected by Beijing and Hong Kong collectors.
