About The Artwork
Part of the original 'Deasil' collection. My younger brother and me in a ‘swimming pool’ made by our father out of a piece of old tarp. Our ‘boat’ was a cardboard box, the pool was a lake, The 'fishing rods' we'd fashioned from sticks and pieces of string. A reflection on transience, memory and imagination. Visual recollections from the past ‘on my mind’ (as seen in or 'through' my mind using X-ray of skull as allegorical periphery of memory). The delight, simplicity and adventures concocted in small yet developing brains. Aye aye.
